Need I say more…
Ok I’ll elaborate. We all know that life can get hectic. It’s so easy to stay in the rush of things constantly, always looking after everyone else but yourself. Work, kids, partners, house work, cooking, appointments, deadlines, events, after school and weekend activities etc etc etc. The list goes on. Recently I’ve realised how important it is to take a breather, to do something that I enjoy, and to do something that relaxes me.
As a mum of 4, one of which is only a few months old, my days can feel long, tiring, busy, constant, and/or draining. Now this is not every day. I absolutely love my life, but some days are more challenging than others, so something that really helps me personally is doing something for myself. Maybe I’ll read a book that I’m enjoying, or I’ll start learning about something that interests me, maybe I’ll do some writing, or when I get the chance I’ll go for a walk with my partner, go kayaking on our weekends, or go for a drive up the hinterland for bookshops and coffee. All these things put a smile on my face and help clear my head.
Not long ago I let the stress of life get on top of me. I had anxious moments, teary moments, moments that I felt I was failing at certain things, moments that I felt I was failing others, moments that I felt I didn’t handle well at all. Can you relate to some of these?
In these moments that we come across in life just like I’ve described above, I want you to take a step back, take a deep breath, and come to the realisation that you’re stronger then you think. These challenges in life will get dealt with and won’t be there forever, and theres better ways to use your time, energy and mind instead of stressing over something that may not even exist tomorrow.
Life is here to enjoy, not to stress over. So take time for yourself. Surround yourself with people that uplift your spirits. Do things that make you smile. Find something that you’re passionate about and that excites you. Because that makes every day enjoyable. And you deserve that.
